How People Make Millions Online?
Have you ever wondered how all of the big Internet marketing “Gurus” manage to make millions of dollars online?
You know the type: You see them in their videos in front of their million dollar mansions and driving a brand new Ferrari or Lamborghini.
And you may of seen the hyped up headlines: “How to make a million dollars online in 2 minutes!”
Or “How I made 1.2 million dollars in 5 months!”
Now some of these headlines may not be exactly, shall we say, 100% accurate, the fact is that there ARE people that are making millions of dollars online, but a lot of people think that they are just scammers and ripping people off.
While this may be true in some cases, many are actually creating great value for people and changing their lives… and they are being financially compensated for it!
So how do people make millions online?
Well read on and I will explain how they do it.
They are Marketing experts
These online gurus are experts at marketing and sales.
They have invested thousands and thousands of dollars to learn the skills of direct response advertising, copywriting, marketing and the art of selling.
Sure, some people are naturally good at these things, but mostly people learn these skills by investing in their own financial education.
They create digital products
Quite often these gurus will package up what they know and turn them into digital products that can be accessed immediately by the click of a mouse.
They sell products such as membership sites, online courses, eBooks and audio programs.
These products can be created for very little money and sold for potentially thousands of dollars at a huge profit.
I personally have paid up to $2000 for an online course on email marketing, but I have seen courses selling for as much as $10,000.
In fact I have even seen one selling for $25,000!
Do you know how many of these courses you would have to sell to make a million dollars? (The answer is 40)
As you can see, selling digital products can be a very lucrative business!
They also sell very high ticket items such as seminars, personal coaching and “done for you” services.
They create a funnel
The online gurus don’t just have one product to sell.
They have several.
They create a sales funnel.
If you purchase an eBook for say $27, then you are offered an upsell to an online course for $297.
If you buy that, you may then be offered a membership site for $97 a month, or a yearly fee of $497.
If you don’t purchase you may be offered a downsell of an audio program for $47.
Later you might be offered a high ticket coaching program for $1997.
You are also the put onto their email list and offered all of these products and others at a later time.
As they build up their email list, they have more and more people they can promote their products to, for as long as they continue to subscribe.
Creating a sales funnel such as this allows these guys to spend more in paid traffic to obtain a customer.
Essentially they then have a cash machine, where they can put a dollar in and three or four dollars comes back out!
I know that sometimes these upsells can seem a bit unethical and you may think that people should sell one product with all the information you need at one fair price… and I see your point.
But sometimes people want a certain amount of information at different price points, and as long as they are products that can stand alone by themselves, and still add value, then fair enough I believe.
And this is how the big boys make millions!
They buy leads and buyers
Once they know what it costs to obtain a customer they can then up the ad spend.
They use platforms such as Facebook advertising, YouTube Ads, Pay Per Click Advertising and Solo Ads to make more and more money.
Essentially they can spend a million dollars on advertising and make three million in return.
The more money they spend, the more they can make.
They network with other gurus and promote each other’s products
For example, Guru A has an email list of one million and is promoting his product for a thousand dollars a pop.
He emails his list and 100 people buy his product, and he makes $100,000.
Nice work for sending out a few emails!
He then asks Guru B to promote his product to his list of 10 million.
Guru B sends out a few emails and 500 people buy.
They then split the profits in the middle and take $250,000 each.
Guru B just made some money for sending out an email for a product he never created.
Guru A just made some money from asking his mate to promote his product… and he built up his email list at the same time, because the buyers would have been sent to his landing page to opt-in before they bought the product.
He then does the same thing with 10 of his other guru friends, and they do the same thing for him.
Win-Win!
They have a team around them
All the big gurus have a small team of dedicated staff around them that believe in their vision.
They delegate a lot of things and concentrate on their core strengths.
They might have a personal assistant, a social media manager, and a marketing manager.
They also might outsource certain tasks.
Some gurus have a huge entourage helping them, where as some might have just one or two trusted helpers.
At the very least, they always belong to some sort of mastermind or coaching program, where they can bounce ideas and leverage each others knowledge.
It has often been said that if you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room!
So there you have it!
That’s how people make millions online!
