What is the Ultimate Success Formula

What is the Ultimate Success Formula

Success is something that we all attain to, but it still eludes many of us.

And we often hear that creating success is very much a learnable skill, but there is so much information out there that it can often get confusing and overwhelming.

So what is the ultimate success formula?

I believe that success can be achieved by following 4 simple steps:

Step 1 – Know your outcome

The very first step to success is to know what it is that we want to achieve… and WHY we want it!

Most people actually don’t know what it is that they want, so they just drift along through life in their comfort zone, but they are not really happy or fulfilled.

I know because I have BEEN THERE!

So the very first step is to set some goals and targets.

Once we know where we are heading, then we can start making a plan to get there.

The time to design the next 10 years of your life is right now!

It is also very important to know WHY we want the goal.

There is an old saying that we don’t want to climb the ladder of success, just to discover that it was leaning on the wrong wall!

We need to have a strong enough reason “why” we want the goal, so that we will keep going through the inevitable struggles and frustrations!

After I set a goal, I like to do the “rocking chair test”.

I imagine that I am a really old man, sitting in my rocking chair, and I imagine what it would be like after having achieved my goal.

How would it make me feel, and what would I have experienced after I achieved this success?

I also imagine what it would be like if I HAD NOT achieved the goal.

Would I regret not achieving it?

How would that make me feel?

The bigger the why, the easier the how!

Step 2 – Take MASSIVE Action!

Now that you have something to aim for, make a plan and start taking action towards it!

And I mean MASSIVE ACTION!

You are not going to achieve your goal by thinking about it.

Or wishing.

Or hoping.

You need to DO something!

You need to do the work!

Take massive action… there is NO other way!

The distance between where you are now and success is action!

It is the bridge between what you want and what you get!

Take MASSIVE ACTION!

Step 3 – Notice what is working… and what isn’t

Will you succeed straight away?

Most probably not.

There is always going to be the inevitable failures, frustrations, doubts and worries.

But you ONLY ever really fail if you QUIT!

I like to call this “measure, monitor and adjust”.

Notice what is working well, and keep doing more of it.

Notice what isn’t, and discard it!

If nothing is working, then change the plan, but not the goal.

It was Thomas Edison that said: “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

Step 4 – Take MORE massive action

Once you have done your measuring, monitoring and adjusting… then take more massive action!

Rinse and repeat!

Keep measuring, monitoring, adjusting, and taking action… UNTIL you reach your goal!

Remember, you only ever fail if you give up and quit!

Rinse and repeat until you succeed!

Bonus step – Modelling

One way to help speed up the process, is to model others that have already succeeded!

There is no need to re-invent the wheel.

Whatever your goal is… somebody else has ALREADY achieved it!

The quickest way to success is to find a good coach or mentor who has already achieved what you want to achieve, and to model their mindset, methods and strategies.

You will still have to go through the previous 4 steps, but this will definitely help shorten the time frame.

So there you have it… The Ultimate Success Formula!

Follow these 4 steps, model a PROVEN method, and you will be well on your way to success yourself.

It is only a matter of time!
