Your Decisions And Your Destiny

As Tony Robbins says, “It is in your decisions and not your conditions that your destiny is shaped”.

Think about where you are now and what you are doing in your life.

What decisions did you make that got you there?

What career did you decide to pursue?

What partner did you decide to marry? Could you have chosen someone else?

Where did you decide to live?decisions my road to financial freedom

What car to buy?

What hobbies to take up?

Good decisions!

Bad decisions!

What if you made a different decision?

You could have had a totally different life!

You see it is not so much the things that have happened to us throughout our lives, it is actually the decisions we have made in response to them that have had the biggest impact!

No matter what is happening to us we are automatically making 3 decisions at any given moment.

  1. What are we choosing to focus on?
  2. What does it mean?
  3. What are we going to do about it?

To start making better decisions we need to consciously focus on these 3 questions, otherwise we are operating on autopilot.

Ask a better question and you will get a better answer!!

It all comes down to focus!

Are we focusing on what we can control? Or what we can’t control?

You can control your own finances but you can’t control the economy!

You can’t control the weather!

You can influence who is in government but you can’t control what they do!

You can’t control what someone does to you but you can control how you react to it!!!

Once we start to focus on what we can control and not on what we can’t control, we will have so much less stress and pain in our lives.

And we will then start to make better decisions!

Our decision on what we focus on will then flow through to our feelings and emotions.

The best question to ask ourselves then is “what else does this mean?”

Your partner yelling at you may might not mean that they don’t love you anymore.

Maybe someone else upset them, maybe they are tired, maybe they just smacked their big toe on the door and they are in pain!!!

It could have nothing to do with you at all!

Try and put yourself  in their shoes and ask “what else could this mean?”

What we decide to focus on and then what meaning we give to it, will then lead to our decisions to what we do about it!

Our decisions on what we do and how we react to things directly relate to our circumstances.

The key is to focus on what we can control and what we really want.

It is the event plus your reaction to it that will give the final outcome.

IN SUMMARYmy road to financial freedom

So it really is the decisions we have made throughout our life that have guided us to our present circumstances.

If you don’t like where you are at the moment make the decision to change it!!!

A decision I made was that I wanted to create Financial Freedom for myself and my family and I have committed to do it!!!

Another decision I have made along My Road to Financial Freedom was to start an online business, which lead me to the amazing community at Wealthy Affiliate.

So what decision will you make?

Don’t worry if you make a mistake, just make a decision to change it!!

So make a decision about something.

Maybe it is something you have been putting off or have always wanted to do.

Make the decision and let me know about it in the comments below!

Again I am John Newman and always remember…

Dream It.. Believe It and then Achieve I!

But first decide to do so!

  1. Everything starts by making a decisions. You must decide that you want to make a change then decide to do the work associated with that change. There is no other way to achieve the success that you want. Great post.

    • Couldn’t agree with you more Steve.
Like I say, it really is our decisions and not so much our conditions that determine our destiny!
Thanks for your feedback, I am glad you liked it.

  2. You’re so correct, making the decision to change something we don’t like is the most important decision we can make. Great post John.

  3. Nice post my friend.

We really are our own worst enemies. too many negative thoughts will leave you with nothing in the end.

Focus and a positive attitude will help us immensely in the long run!
